To power Vamanoz and your experience, we need to collect, use, and share some of your personal information. This Privacy Policy is meant to help you understand how Vamanoz does that and how to exercise the choices and rights you have in your information.

The Scope of This Policy

This policy applies to all Vamanoz users, including Riders and Drivers (including Driver applicants), and to all Vamanoz platforms and services, including our applications, websites, technology, and other services (collectively, the “Vamanoz Platform”).

This policy applies only to personal information, not to aggregated or anonymized data. Your use of the Vamanoz Platform is also subject to our Terms of Service.

 


The Information We Collect

A. Information You Provide to Us

  • Your Account: When you create an account with Vamanoz, we collect your name, email address, phone number, profile photo. You may also choose to save addresses (like home or work) and set preferences. We may request additional identification documents to verify your account.
     
  • Driver Information: If you apply to be a Driver, we collect application details, including your name, email, phone number, address, date of birth, profile photo, government identification number (such as Social Security Number), driver’s license information, vehicle and insurance details, and payment/banking details.
     
  • User Content: We collect information you provide when you rate trips, give feedback, contact support, or participate in surveys.
     

B. Information We Collect When You Use the Vamanoz Platform

  • Location Information:
     
    • Riders: We collect your device’s precise location when you open and use the app, including during rides.
       
    • Drivers: We collect precise location when you are online in driver mode and for a limited time after, for safety and incident detection.
       
  • Usage Information: Includes trip details like pickup, drop-off, time, distance, route, fare, and payment method.
     
  • Device Information: Includes device type, IP address, operating system, carrier, language preferences, and identifiers like push tokens.
     
  • Communications: Calls and messages between Riders and Drivers are anonymized through our system, but we may collect metadata (time, duration) and content when necessary for safety.
     
  • Cookies & Analytics: We use cookies, SDKs, and analytics tools to improve our services, prevent fraud, and personalize your experience.
     

C. Information from Other Sources

We may receive information about you from:

  • Background check providers, insurance partners, or payment providers.
     
  • Employers or organizations if you use Vamanoz through a business account.
     
  • Referral programs or third parties who help us with promotions, fraud prevention, or safety.
     

 


How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information to:

How We Disclose Your Information

  • Between Riders and Drivers:
     
    • Riders see Driver’s name, profile photo, vehicle details, and rating.
       
    • Drivers see Rider’s name, profile photo, rating, and pickup/drop-off points.
       
  • Service Providers: We share information with vendors who help us with payment processing, background checks, insurance, cloud hosting, analytics, and marketing.
     
  • Legal Compliance: We may disclose data to law enforcement, courts, or regulators when required by law or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
     
  • Business Transactions: If Vamanoz undergoes a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your data may be transferred.
     
  • With Your Consent: We may share your information with third parties at your request (e.g., linking rewards or enterprise accounts).
     

 


How We Store and Protect Your Information

  • We keep your profile as long as you maintain an account.
     
  • Trip and payment records are kept for at least 7 years to comply with accounting and tax requirements.
     
  • If you delete your account, we remove your data except where retention is legally required (e.g., fraud prevention, insurance claims).
     
  • We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no system is 100% secure.
     

 


Your Rights and Choices

  • Email & SMS: You can unsubscribe from promotional emails or texts through account settings or by using opt-out instructions in the message.
     
  • Push Notifications: Can be turned off in your device settings.
     
  • Location Data: You may disable location services, but it may affect app functionality.
     
  • Access & Deletion: You can request a copy of your data or delete your account through the Vamanoz app or support team.
     
  • Jurisdiction-Specific Rights: Depending on where you live, additional privacy rights may apply (e.g., California, Canada, Virginia).
